Forum: GratefulDead Subject: Re: Worst Dead Tune?

Never Trust A Woman, Good Time Blues, or whatever the fuck that thing is called. A show-stopper, and I mean that in a really bad way.

I Will Take You Home might be a sweet little song, but did not belong in a Grateful Dead 2nd set. Plus I am personally and perpetually pissed off by the lyrics

"Daddy's here and he never will forget you (except when he's nodding out)"
"I will take you home (unless I nod out and forget to)"

And I particularly hated it when they trucked that poor little girl out on stage during this song; I saw that happen twice and was really repulsed both times. Granted five year olds are tough, so it's not that I think they messed her up or anything, but it just seemed too exploitative and manipulative for The Boys. Wrong band for this song, and please leave the kiddies backstage with Mom.
